📦 About the Box

What is Curious Dragons?

Curious Dragons is a monthly Build-Your-Own book subscription box for readers aged 9–12. Each box is packed with bookish magic: you choose your book(s), pick your favorite themed gifts, and we handle the rest.

What comes in each box?

Every box includes:

One or both of our featured middle grade books
A selection of exclusive, book-themed gifts

You choose your items each month—it’s like a menu for reading fun.

Who picks the books?

All books are hand-selected by our founder, a children’s book expert with over 20 years of experience. We focus on hidden gems, diverse voices, and storytelling that captures imagination and curiosity.

What kinds of books are included?

Genres include fantasy, adventure, historical fiction, mystery, realistic fiction, and more. Books are age-appropriate for readers in grades 4–6, with rich stories and thoughtful themes.

Will my child receive books they’ve already read?

Since you choose the book(s) each month, you're always in control. If your child is a voracious reader, this setup helps avoid duplicates.

Do you offer books for different reading levels?

Right now, we focus on books geared toward the 4th–6th grade reading range. That said, we believe fit depends more on the reader than the number—feel free to reach out if you need help choosing.

🎁 Gifting & Referrals

Can I give a subscription as a gift?

Absolutely! Just select the “Gift” option at checkout. We’ll make sure it arrives with a note and a special unboxing experience.

Do you offer a referral program?

Yes we do—and it’s a win-win!

When you refer a friend, they’ll get $5 off their first box, and you’ll get $5 off your next one as a thank-you.

Can I add a birthday surprise?

Yes! If you fill out this quick form with your reader’s name and birthday month, we’ll include a special surprise in their birthday box. Just our way of making the month feel extra magical. 🥳

🛒 Subscription & Customization

How does the subscription work?

Every month, you'll receive an email reminding you to build your box. Customization opens around the 11th and closes on the 5th of the following month.

During that time, you'll log into your account to:

Select your book(s)
Pick your favorite themed gifts
Confirm your choices

What if I forget to customize?

If we don’t hear from you by the 4th, we’ll build your box for you based on your previous selections and the amount paid—so you’ll still receive a great box, just without your input that month.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

Yes! You can pause or cancel anytime in your account settings or by emailing us. No hidden clauses. No drama. Just dragons.

Can I buy past boxes or one-time items?Yes! You can purchase select mini boxes (book + 1–2 themed items) and standalone gifts from previous boxes, while supplies last.

📬 Shipping & Support

When will my box arrive?

Boxes ship by the 22nd of each month. Delivery times vary, but most U.S. orders arrive within 3–7 business days after shipping.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet—we currently ship within the U.S. only.
